Finals coming up, paper due in the morning that I haven't started yet other than kicking around ideas, and I STILL don't have a job. Oy vey. But whatever. The play closed last night (strike is on Tuesday) and went awesome, and I actually have written lately. Yays!

Oh yeah, and I've a math test I think in the morning. Whoops. I should go study for that or something.

Okay, so I have two interviews today, and am hoping for being able to type "I would write but I have to go to work" sometime in the next few days. LOL

Haven't gotten much done writing wise, though I've got a whole One Note doc full of notes, and an idea or seventeen.

Yes, I'm a slacker.

Whatever.

Also! Hey Sleep Kitty,Open Office is a wonderful solution for those without Word programs. Hell, I might go old school and buy a typewriter. Why do that when I have a laptop?
/A) It's fun,
B) The typos are funnier when you're re-reading,
C) The sound is just so effing productive/soothing,
D) You actually have PHYSICAL pages in front of you at the end of the day,
E) Why the hell not? LOL

Um... Well.... let's just say the novel is going well.

I am a tad frustrated with it but with the madness of the past month, I havent actually even looked at writing in far too long. The idea is there, the urge to write is there but I have had very little space to write in.

Added to that, my current computer doesnt actually have Microsoft Word or Office atm and quite frankly it's not hard to understand why the writing just isnt happening. Through in the recent WoW addiction and oh poo, where did the month go.

However, there be light ahead. I have woken up refreshed and ready to write for the past couple of days. I have a new resolve and a desire to download OpenOffice. Finding uninterrupted writing is still an issue BUT my breaks are changing at work which may give me the opportunity to write there.

Unfortunately, I just had a really, really good idea for writing a non-fiction book. So I may research that and write this novel at the same time. Then write the non-fiction book. Or the non-fiction book may take over. We will see.

So, all in all, um...... indecision still plagues me but I will write something. This is a start. :)

Rubi is under the weather yet again and...I don't recall the last time I spoke with Sleepy Kitty. Lex just moved to a new apartment and I don't even know if she has internet just yet. So...

Week FOUR?!?!?!

How in the hell is it week four???

Oh well. I'm behind on my word count, mostly because I must have caught Rubi's cooties or something and have been ill for the past two weeks plus. Just kidding on the cooties, but seriously, I've been sick for nearly three weeks. Not. Fun.

Anyway, I'll be playing catch up this weekend as I have no known major demands on my time as of yet, but one can never know.

Oh except the part where I spend Friday evening with my Uncle Ron, Aunt Leslie and two cousins having dinner at their house and then playing nice Jewish girl again whilst accompanying them to synagogue. Never let it be said that I don't do nice things for my family.

On another note for those that care, today is the one year anniversary of my father's wedding to Keri. They've been separated since November (depending on who you ask) and I spoke to both Daddy and Keri this evening. They are living in Irregon, Oregon; and Sacramento, California, respectively.

I'll be heading to bed as soon as I outline my narrative essay....or get too lazy to do anything and go to bed. LOL

So! Here we are in week three of the OYON project. I dunno about my fellow writers, but my muses are having a field day with my brainpan-as are my professors. Yes, I'm behind on my WC, but whatever. Lol. I have a feeling I'll be doing the majority of my working when I would normally be doing NaNoWriMo or something come November! ^_^ Just kidding!

I'll be back on schedule after my English exam tomorrow. For now, I'm off to study so I can remember what in the seventh hell a preposition is. ^_^

And remember long enough to pretend I care for my exam tomorrow.

I finally have my Yovel started (to the tune of 5k plus) ^_^ and am happily working on it. Yays for me. Who cares if I'm a week behind in my wordcount? That's how life works. Delays will be dealt with later. A surplus wordcount shall be acchieved this weekend. Most likely.

Now, Rubi needs to get all the way better and we'll be good. Oh, and life is crazy cool. I think I finally got the child that was infatuated with me to fuck off. Whoot!

Off to do homework/write. I'll let you figure out the order on that one. ^_~

With the help of Rubi and Sleepy Kitty: I have my Yovel idea ironed out (mostly) Lol.

Also? Going to be working on a volume of homosexual centered faerie/moral/fable stories. ^_^ SO awesome. Working in tandem with the local Gay Pride chapter (is my inner ambisexual quasi lesbian showing? Whoopsie!) to network with other writers. ^_^ Squeeness.

Still not a bloody word written and two major tests this week. Still working on what it is I want to write. -__- Oy. Also? Totally exceeded the wordcount on my Narrative essay for English. Oy. Ah well. I'll work on it between classes or something.

Still more than slightly ill, but whatever. I'll live. Breathing's a bit of a trial at times, but for the most part it's fairly normal. LOL

Day 003 of 365. (Eeeeeks!)

I am freezing. My ass is freezing. My ass is probably frozen onto the concrete outside my math class. Did I mention it was just a little bit chilly here in Florida today? Dearest Rubi, do NOT go outside, your lungs will hate you for it. SleepyKitty, I'm sure you can empathize on the whole cold-as-hell thing since the UK is currently experiencing one of the snowiest (is that a word? It is now!) winters in a very long time. Be safe and keep warm!

Now then, to the meat of my posting: it is now Day 003 of the OYON challenge and due to an insane amount of homework, I have yet to get past character descriptions (not even as far as names!) >.< Arg. Not one word of the story itself written, though I do have a fairly good idea of where I want to go with it. Still needing to figure out the whole beginning and ending bits. LOL.

But hopefully I'll knock out some of my wordcount this evening, once I'm done with my homework, and have my five thousand done by Sunday night. And I damn well better since I've not one but two major tests next week as well as a few essays due.

Have I lost my mind?

Well...lost implies having it securely in the first place. ^_^

Now I must pry my frostbitten arse off the ground and head to the library: screw this freezing for another twenty minutes thing. ^_^ I'm going to warm up. Mebbe a cup of tea instead....

The notorious BellaB. is correct that I -- the woman known far and wide as Rubi Jayne -- am down, but not for the count. I don’t kill that easily. No, I’m just down for an extended nap, courtesy of the charming walk-in clinic doctor that prescribed the cough syrup that’s an antihistamine/narcotic cough suppressant cocktail, the delightful pharmacist that filled the prescription, and the dutiful husband that administers it to me every twelve hours.

So, I’ve gone from being stoned on Sudafed to being stoned on The Good Stuff. Not that I’m complaining; I’m rather fond of breathing and The Good Stuff allows me to breathe without my chest whistling… always a bonus in my book. The down side, however, is that being as sensitive to drugs as I am, I have not quite three hours of rather strained coherency a day. Twice a day, for a little more than an hour before my “next hit”, I’m awake and marginally coherent. And coughing up my lungs (almost literally, which is as painful as you might imagine).

And in the midst of my plague, Miss BellaB. tells me (more or less) “Hey, you’re doing One Year One Novel. WHOOT!” and starts throwing links at me. (I think I was staring blankly and drooling on one of the cats at that point.)

Uh huh. I’m little more than Vegetable Girl for the next however many days I keep taking The Good Stuff and then however many days it takes to burn the drugs out of my system. I barely have the coherency to form complete sentences that make sense three hours a day, and the rest of the time I’m asleep or licking one of the cats. And the crazy woman wants me to agree to, well, something that I think involves writing.

At this point, I fall back to quoting one of the greatest minds in the world. “Purple haze all in my eyes. Don't know if it’s day or night. You got me blowin’, blowin’ my mind. Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time?”

And with that, dear world, I give up my tremulous hold on coherency and sink blissfully into that dark oblivion where breathing comes free and easy, without pain, without coughing.

Now if I could just find a way to record all the antics of my characters while I’m sleeping…

Hi!!!

Okay, just as an FYI to any/all readers: I, Belladonna Bones, have absolutely no intention of doing daily updates. I have far too much schoolwork, I'm working on a play and have various other things going on in my life. Which of course translates to that I probably will end up killing time in between classes almost every day. ^_^ But whatever works, right?

Also: Congrats to SleepKitty! (I've not the foggiest idea what it is you want to go by on here, so for now I'll stick with your username. ^_^ LOL) You are way ahead of me. I sorta have a vague idea, but I've got my characters! Yay! As soon as I knock out the Narrative essay I have for English class and my current events assignement for Political Science, I'll be working on my Yovel. Um...Yeah. That's so an on purpose and not a typo that I thought looked cool when I noticed it. ^_^;;; Believe me? Well, that makes one of us.

However, I think it shall stick. Yovel? When doing it's a NaNovel, so I guess a year long novel project could work as a Yovel... Opinions? Agreement/disagreement? Notifications I'm accidentally insulting someone's grandmother in Swedish Gaelic or something? Leave them in the comment box. ^_^

Day 1!

I have characters, plot and even a plan! Woo hoo. I'm sitting in blissful quiet watching the snow fall outside the window and already I am procrastinating. I sense this will be the start of a year of trials, tribulations and much procrastination.

My plan is simple. Start at the beginning. Then write the end and then fill in the middle. What do you think?

Oh and to continue the computer troubles. The laptop I am currently using to write with has taken against the 'A' key. You have to be firm with it. :)

Day 000 of 365,

So! In less than twenty minutes begins One Year One Novel for my timezone (Eastern US time). Yaaaay! Our dearest Rubi is down for the count right now with a viral infection (FEEL BETTER HON!) and our resident New York gone Floridian is without a fuctioning computer STILL. Oy. The horror!

However! We will conquer, we shall succeed! We're too damned stubborn to do otherwise. ^_^ In honour of poor NY, I will be doing the majority of my research and writing via notebook. It will fit in my purse far easier than my laptop anyway.... Hmm... Hey NY, want to use my PC for now? LOL I could mail you my hard drive. Heh.

Anyway, I've got the basic idea and a few characters ironed out for my story (no working title yet) and now the trick will be getting them all to shut up long enough for me to get a few hours of sleep before class in the morning. Yay!

Mental duct tape is a girl's best friend. ^_^

Hello everyone!

BellaB here throwing out the initial "Heyo how are ya?" We're only a few days from the kick off of One Year, One Novel! Wee hoo!

So, why is this here? Well, to be honest this was inspired by a Twitter posting that a friend of mine put up. The link for the contest that inspired this is here.

As stated in the description above (not that you read it most likely) this is a blog belonging to several writers who have come together with a similar goal: to write, finish, and edit a novel in one year's time. Our goal is for each of us to achieve 5,000 words a week on each of our stories. Some of us may be revamping a WIP (work in progress) to begin; while others maybe yanking muses down into their heads or using random ones that pop up for their inspiration.

The purpose of this blog is that it will become a common announcement board for our various accomplishments-literary and otherwise- a source of procrastinating, as well as a place to speak of our collective lives when we haven't a moment to call/IM/whatever, recording important events and all other uses we may find for it. Expect wenching about synonyms (hence the thesaurus), Muse cookie recipes, plot fail whining, main character dissing and all other amusing/stressful aspects of writing that those that pick up a pen or pencil can commiserate with.
